I'm not sure if I've ever ridden my road bike in January in my life, let alone in all short gear. Jan and Feb are XC ski and snow shoe months. In NY we would normally have 3 feet of snow, and here its usually less snowy by 15 degrees with salt crust, mounds of road sand, snow reduced road shoulders, and huge frost heaves.
Not sure if I actually like it.
