Cutting back on fat is a good idea, but 40 grams of fat (360 calories) sounds like a sedentary person's diet. Still, fat has more than twice the calories per gram than protein or carbs. There are foods that fill you up without loading you up.
Read the labels on the food you eat. Calculate about 2,000 calories per day + calories burned during cycling. (35 per mile?) Don't eat out, it's loaded with fat and you can't read the label. Eat enough protein to maintain good muscles. Stay away from junk food. Eat lots of vegetables, they fill you up and have few calories.
