I can't vouch for which was introduced first (I'd guess the 49, but that's a guess) or whether Stronglight came out with both at about the same time, but I am certain that they were both being spec'd on new bikes during the early to mid '70's "Bike Boom" years. My sense was that the 93 was introduced to compete with Campy's Nuovo Record, but I'll be dipped if I can recall what info led me to think that. Hey, it's hard to remember all the details - maybe because of some of the other things that were being introduced around then . . . .
