The 49D chainset was launched about 1937, the 93 in the early 70s. The 49D and 93 both went on into the 1980s. TA's 5-pin chainsets were similar to the Stronglight 49D but came later. TA's first chainset called the Criterium featured an odd crank/bottom bracket axle fitting with a wedge and axle ends with two flats and a half circle. This came out about 1960.
