Let me tell you... doing a 200k brevet on my backup bike, I definitely was longing for my primary bike during the last 40 or so miles. Not because of any performance difference (primary: Cervelo R3; backup: Specialized Allez Sport, overkill for a backup bike) but because my primary bike is a far more comfortable ride. (Not that I wouldn't have liked a roughly 7% increase in climbing speed.) That said, it was still a great day. Any day with a long ride is a great day.
