Even if Lance was riding a stock/ standard issueTrek 1000 SL, he could still have won the Tour de France! With his Dura-Ace pedals and Nike cycle shoes of course.
He'd need to get the mechanics to change the chain every evening though, in case he snapped
the stock one in half I guess! The brake pads would need replacing each day in the mountains as well.
He'd need a proper TT bike though for the ITT stages and prologue.
