I went for the optional alloy wheels and canoe pack. Since that photo was taken I have gotten much better at packing everything into the canoe. I have found that the canoe tows the best if loaded a wee, little bit bow heavy. Too much or too little weight in the bow of the boat makes the bike less stable. Because of the way the trailer attaches to the bike, I very highly doubt it would work with a CF seatpost.
