Do you ever get neck cramps from that massive chip on your shoulder? There is nothing wrong with fat tires. But a road bike IS more efficient than a bike with big bloated tires. It is fact. Quit hating on people who ride skinny tires and find the experience enjoyable.

I have both a MTB with massive tires and a road bike with 23c tires. The MTB IS lousy on the road but a blast on trails. The reverse is true of the road bike. It isn't us versus them. The bikes are just made for different purposes. And to ride a fat tired bike on the road is less than ideal.

If you truly want something that is good on the road and good on trails, get a cyclocross bike.
