Well, not to be too bragging, but when I lived in Hawaii, my daily commute over the Pali Mountains was 'exciting'.
Max speed ever on the Kailu bound sid ewas 46 MPH on my Leader mountain bike. Bit of a tailwind there and lots of gravity.
Most days it was around 40 -> 42 MPH. Pedaling like a cartoon character.
