Unfortunately the testing will always lag behind the technology. With the wealth and prestige success brings there will always be a demand for them.

I like what Chris Boardman did after he set the hour record. He produced enough samples blood, urine, hair etc.. so that some could be stored and tested later as tests evolve. Assuming there is no corruption in the system, that may be the only way to have any confidence at all that the records of today have any relevance to those in the past.
