That argument is completely irrelevant.
The peg is obviously directed towards the park riding community. While I don't particularly like the idea, I don't see anything wrong with it. I doubt many people grind through with coping, and I am sure they tested them sufficiently before going into production.
If you don't like them, don't buy them.
