I used to have an Ultegra 9sp triple with 52/42/30 config. I switched to DuraAce 9sp 53/39/30 and like it much better. It matches my other bike which is a standard double 53/39 so the gearing is the same. Also, I found on the rides I wanted the triple, I was always having to shift between the 30 and 42 which meant shifting the rear cassette an extra cog. Since I only use the 30 on the steepest, longest hills anyway, I prefer to have the 53/39 to use for everything else.
