Yeah i guess what i am really confused about is how i should start and continue through it. At the present I try to gain some speed and use that before the climb starts. I am not sure if I should be trying to stay in the same gear and really push up the hill or if i should shift down and lose some speed for ease of pedaling. Right now i find myself starting ok but ending up spinning fast enough but going no where. I then try to shift up and stand up to get the speed back but doing this back and forth seems inefficient. Is it better to just stay seated or standing the entire time?
Mix it up. On extended climbs I stand about 15-25% of the time.
