In the first and third pictures it looks like you are crosschained and running big / big. For starters, don't do that.

Your next problem, it sounds like you need to do two things. You need to tighten up your front cable a little bit and you need to adjust your limit screws. The limit screw being out of adjustment is what is allowing your chain to fall off.

If the bike is new just take it in for a quick adjustment, it should be free. While you are there show them the problem with the cassette, that should be warranteed.
