i HAD a kryptonite NY chain lock, older version (not bic pen-able). i dont have insurance as i bought it hand-me-down used. so forget about that guarantee. what's crazy is that we caught the thief's face and actions on tape and i thought about calling the police, the head of security at our hotel advised againt it. he said that he was NYPD for 4 years and he was certain that they wouldn't do anything about it, even if we knew where the bike was! he said NYC wasn't a bike freindly city, and i knew that having been arrested twice just for riding critical mass.
