Well, I'll go back and try again. I just don't understand why I can easily spin the formula ring down to the cog by hand but not the dura ace. Now that you've assured me that they should fit, it points to me placing the dura ace on crooked. But I can't explain why it's only with the dura ace that I have this issue.
