It is not a strait cable. There is 1 cable from the hand brake that is separated into 2 cables. Then both cables wrap around the bike frame, actually touching the seat post part of the frame.
look at this picture and imagine the cable on the seat post is also on the other side.

I think this is a crappy way of running the brake line which in the long run will scrap the paint off.
