well, as far as axle clearance goes, it looks okay - as I mentioned, I was able to install my 9 spd wheel and it fit and spun freely when locked down. If anything, there is too much space when I install the stock 6spd wheel (Perhaps someone already coldset the frame for a 130mm axle? Doubtful since it had the original wheelset and was 100% stock when I bought it used.)

I was thinking since it has friction shifters that I would only need to perhaps adjust the limiting screws to accomodate the spacer and ensure the chain doesn't exceed the cogs at either end.
