Sorry, I guess I didn't explain myself well enough.

I already have clip on aero bars. The idea with mounting the brifters on my base bar is in lieu of going base bar, then removing the brifters, adding TT brakes to the base bar and then putting my DA bar shifters into my clip on aero bar ends.

I just hate the redundancy, Ludditism, performance, aesthetics and discomfort of the curly drop bars and need those out of there. I'm going base bar but what then of brakes and shifters?
