I have the 2006 Dawes Lightning sport that I got from chicabike on ebay... I have about 800 miles on mine and the only thing that I have done to the bike is put an stem extender on it (so that I can hit the drops now and then...) and to replace the rear tire because of wear (not sure if its because of the quality of the tire or just because Im a clydesdale... )

now my bike is a steel frame, the one you are looking is probably aluminum which is fairly common nowadays... I have not had any problems with the components... they are low end shimano but the derailers shift smoothly and the brakes work great.

edit: actually this is the same bike that I have... guess I should have looked at it before
making the reply... but I have had no regrets buying the bike...
