there's this myth of the hipster with the blinged out bike, who doesn't really ride. it needs to end. yeah, i see people who aren't serious about riding bikes, and some of them have fixed gears (i see plenty of people not riding bikes in new york city) - and some are really ugly bikes - but i have yet to encounter anybody who goes out, spends a ton on a track bike, and then doesn't do anything with it or any other bikes other than "parade" it up and down bedford ave and the LES. blah, blah, blah. clumping, generalizations, stereotypes, and idiocy. let it end, k? it's not that important.
