Hello from San Jose
As a matter of courtesy I thought I'd make an intro post. I decided to get a bike to accomplish two things, one being to be able to reduce my use of my car and therefore my use of the increasingly-expensive gas it consumes and another being to be able to get cardio workouts without having to go to the gym. Well, I'm pleased to say that I've accomplished both. I can run errands around my neighborhood and I can go for a quick 30min fitness ride before work.. or both! Using my bike has been a great, practical way to get some exercise and leave the car in the driveway.
My bike is a 2007 Marin Muirwoods. I got it because I thought it wouldn't be as tempting to thieves as a nicer bike with higher-end components and I wanted something that could take the abuse I thought I'd give it. So far it has worked out but I'm already wanting something that's faster- lower rolling resistance, lower weight, maybe with drop bars. Don't know yet.
Anyhow, that's me.
