Yup Giskard - depending on the season, the backpacker area around the lake can be full of mozzies. Best time to go is Dec to Feb where it is the dry & cool season. PP is abt 22-24c in the days and a cool 18 at nites.
That said, I was there in June and didnt notice the mozzies too much
