Chirp, chirp, chirp. Isn't that maddening!

If you think about it, pedal bearings take more abuse than any other bearings on the bicycle. They get closer to the road grime and puddles than any other bearing, They are the smallest bearings on the bicycle, and all the raw energy goes straight into the pedal bearings with vitually no buffer.

It is a wonder that pedals hold up as well as they do. Still, they are probably the most neglected thing on the maintanance agenda.

Pedal maintananace can be troublesome because many pedals are difficult to disassemble to access the bearings.

If you are determined to do it yourself, it can be done. Otherwise.... new pedals are pretty easy to install..
