I bought that very item.

It isn't as accurate as a chest-based HRM. You have to really concentrate and experiment on how to place your finger on the unit. I also take 3 or 4 reading to verify a consistent result. I wanted to use this item in the morning to check my resting HR, but due to the issues stated above, it doesn't work well for me in that capacity.
