Where I work at we have a Heliarc welder especially for aluminum. Our weld shop had used it to braze on cable ends and cantilever mounts for me (on some steel frames). If my Cannondale frame cracks I MIGHT consider getting it Heliarc-ed, but I would probably trade it in for a new frame.
