Concerning the seatpost Azndude, I would think the shop would trade it out for you although for a relatively inexpensive bike maybe not, but it's worth asking about.
Yeah, mine shifts very quick. If you have a screwdriver you can adjust it yourself -

The seatpost has a preload on the bottom. You can tighten it down all the way and it won't budge.
