Go in the morning early and practice, little easier to try stuff and bail when the local 'Pros' are not watching. And you're relaxed, no cross traffic.
And you are developing with YOUR abilities, not competing with a rider with years more experience.. don't get tense..enjoy.
Figure one move not too advanced, not every trick, build on it.
Practice chucking the bike, like to the side in bushes and knee lands to get your confidence up. ( yes you will crash, learn to toss the bike away from your body.)
