Who were the guys in the orange/blue jerseys? They looked like they were really struggling with that tire.
Those were some of the guys with the Breakaway Bike Club, helping Chris out. Airing up his tire with a minipump, one of those guys accidentally snapped the presta valve on Chris' rear tire.
**NOTE** Don't use a minipump on a Presta Valve unless it has a hose!
