One thing that can help is not to gobble the bar while in the saddle or take off immediately after eating it. Make it a rest stop. Get off the bike, stretch a little, eat the bar, along with plenty of water taken a little at a time (with some bars it's the only way you can wash the darn things down!). Stretch a bit again and then ride away slowly, gradually picking up speed until you're back on your pace.
