I've ran over a lot of stuff and jumped curbs. I don't know. Perhaps PB had a bad batch of thier superflashes? I got both of mine from MEC.ca and both worked fine for the year. Hell they even survived a few waist hieght drops, ~30kph drop, bounce, then re-hit on curb corner and still is kicking. I've never had it in a submerged puddle but I have been in a thunder shower before and it still works just fine.

Just my 2cents on it.
