Road test with new 2X12V and stock 2X12V batteries (as 48V)

This morning:
Weather = very good
Temp = 20 C.
From home to UBC, around UBC campus and return = 39 km

Pushing very hard on way to UBC.
Could cruise at 45km/h on flat.
At such speed, the 16" ebike was not very stable due to side-wind.
On the way home, kept the speed at about 35km/h to conserve energy.
The ebike was pretty weak at the last 3 km near home.
Could only do about 20km/h.

Voltage of batteries at the end:
1) Stock batteries : 11.74V and 11.74V
Very balance.
2) new batteries : 11.58V (weaker than stock)
10.98V (very poor, will need to recondition by
charging on its own.)
The stock ones are BB batteries which seem to be very balance and good.
The new ones from a different make (also from China)

Comments:
1) The 16" foldable ebike has reached its safety speed limit with 48V battery.
2) Riding very hard could give a range of 35km for 48V 12Ah battery.
3) Ridjng at easy could give a range of 50-60 km.
4) The modification costs an extra of CAD 200-250 for 20A X-controller, 2 new batteries and connectors. There is a lot of research work in order to implement the 20A X-controller sucessfully for AL1020 ebike.
5) Seems that the economical way upgrade is simplily to add an extra 12V 12Ah battery (about CAD50-) and the ebike is still within the legal speed limit in Canada.
