I would recommend visiting http://www.omsi.edu/. My kids love going there and they are 2, 4 and 8. There is something for the whhhhoooole family. Right now they have Body Worlds.

How old are your kids? There are many kid friendly places in Portland. If you give me some more info I'd be happy to recommend some places.

We have some favorite places to eat when we go into town like:

Old Wives Tales healthy and yummy. Their soups are delicious...everything is delicious there actually

Mc Menamins has a great theater (cheap and you can eat and drink in there on lush couches) and soaking tub at the Kennedy School

Many outdoor places to explore. I would drive up the Gorge out to the Hood River and explore all the Fruit Loop and waterfalls also (so many if you drive east on the 84 that you can have a short hike to.
