I do use winter as an opportunity to do deep maintenance and repair. Grease the headset and v-brake pivots, repace brake pads, cassette and chain if needed. Everything gets a super cleaning and lube. Any planned upgrades happen too. But 'rebuild', not as a yearly routine. bk
