I use a Buff in the winter too. I start with it around my neck, and pull the back up and over so it covers my ears and head. I can pull it over my chin and mouth too, and it can easily be moved and shifted as the temperature changes during a ride.From the buff website:
On slightly warmer days, I use it more as a headband, to cover ears and head without the chin/neck coverage.
