Worksman or Recumbent?

OK - The MTB is getting old. I'm interested in a (more comfortable) trike. The ones I'm considering break down into two categories:

1. Upright trikes (ala Worksman)
2. Recumbent trikes (Tera-Trike Cruiser or ActionBent Apoyo)

All of the above are good for 300# or more, so I'm OK with either style. My question is, from a comfort standpoint, which will be best for 50-100 mile rides (my goal, not my current average ride!)?

If anyone has experience with both, please weigh in! Other opinions are also most welcome!

As an aside, has anyone tried fitting their MTB with "cow horn" handlebars, such as the Nitto Dream? Did it make the MTB more comfortable?
