looks like a late-80's bike. definitely not the original fork, and probably not a 'gap' (all of which had internally routed rear brake cables i believe). very similar to one that passed through my hands recently...seat cluster, tri-color paint, decal font, single chrome stay.

mine was a 'tretubi', which denotes an SL main triangle and builder's choice stays and fork. if you don't find the previously mentioned 'helicoil splines' (aka: 'rifling', like in a gun barrel) yours may very well be this.
