Before my wife and I were married, she lived in an apartment with a designated, locked bicycle room that was in the parking garage. One night some 'pros' backed a truck in and took every valuable bicycle in the place (about 30 of them). All that was left were the junkers and the expensive broken locks on the ground. My wife's NEW bicycle (less than a week old) was taken along with the others.

I suppose video camera surveillance would help curtail such an event these days, but thieves are enterprising buggers.
