Just found this thread, i live and ride on the roads east of Lac du Bonnet, lots of traffic these days including large trucks, the shoulders are sloped gravel so it takes some nerve to ride a road bike but for the most part people are careful and courteous. As you move up into Nopiming its all loose gravel so its like a shotgun anytime a vehicle passes you. There are some roadside trails suitable for mountain biking but you're competing with fast moving ATV's...the scourge of the universe. Unfortunately Manitoba in general seems way behind in promoting cycling as alternative travel.
