I highly recommend the chris king hubs....they make a HUGE diference in performance and you will never regret the purchase, besides they have around 4 times the engagement of the freewheel you're using right now, which means you will be able to get a little better pedal position coming out of the gate, I consider that to be very important, I used to own at the gates....

I can't argue with the wheel thing, either, however dropping that kind of money on your wheel and not upgrading the hub is simply rediculous.....so I wouldnt bother UNLESS you want to buy the hub...save some more...buy the spokes.....and then get it all done at once.....OR you could even save up for everything, go to your local bmx bike shop and try to talk them down on the spokes, hub, and installation on account of you buying everything at once from them.....

I would get the spokes and hub and do it all at once.....but it requires some patience....the most whiz bang thing you can do right now would be the hub if you have to do just one thing..... the smartest thing you could do with your money right now would be to try buying the hubs used on ebay, find some nice light high quality rims on ebay, and then get the ti spokes for a nice 3 cross on the rear and a straight lace up front (going lightweight, right?) and then get it all put together at your LBS....

no real answer there from me....hell, a nice set of profiles with a titanium bb and a lightweight chainring might even make a nice difference, but not as big as a set of super light smooth wheels......

another thing, since you're racing, a nice lightweight fork will help you get off the ground easier as well......plus it has a bling factor that is undenyable....hehe

good luck
