Giant Cypress LX or Gary Fisher Zebrano - Help?

I am getting back into biking after about 10 years off. We have a paved trail system a 1/2 mile from my house. I am currently staying away from road bikes due to an unstable disk in my lower back.

I am looking at buying one of these two bikes and would like assistance. I have been riding about 15-20 miles 4-5 days a week at around 15 mph average (on a borrowed trek). In the old days I used to do this around 19 mph.

I have been researching and see these two bikes as my best options for the price. They seem to be almost the same bikes except the Giant has disk brakes (don't know if I like that or not). I love the comfort but don't really know if one has better components or other reasons to purchase one over the other. Both dealers are good.

I need to add pedals with clips and put reduced width tires (better effieciency) on both. I would probably put 32c tires on.

The Giant Cypress LX is $420 and the Zebrano is $380 so price is close.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
