We smelled smoke last night. Winds are fierce out here. I had to go into the West Valley to check out our computer network at work and it's worse there, with tons of debris and downed trees. Was going to do a short ride but with so much garbage flying around, it's not worth it. Anyhow got in 40 miles yesterday.
Could see the smoke from the Malibu fire as I drove along. Based on TV reports plus the winds, this is going to be a bad one. Topanga and Malibu Canyon are closed at Mulholland.
I had a friend who lived on Malibu Road north of the Colony years ago and we spent a night sweating out a brush fire like this that came down the hills. It was soooo scary.
