I've no personal experience, but this sounds like it could be the kind of BS that mechanics spout from time to time. Isn't this the BB that Team CSC use? How many km did you get before failure? I would try the same BB again before giving up.
I vaguely recall that you can use a Shimano Hollowtech II BB with FSA chainsets. Anyone know?
