With all due respect to Top506, the Seven-GT was not all steel. It used an aluminum casting for the upper pivot housing. The all steel model was the Honor. The Seven-GT was generally found on upper, entry level models.
As always, T-Mar's data (and memory!) are better than mine. I dug a 7-GT rd out of the bucket of take-offs and the upper pivot is indeed alloy, with the rest being nicely chromed steel (including Sun Tour's laudable but uncopyed open cage).
