29er or not?
I took a test ride today on a 2006 Gary Fisher Paragon. Prior, I had been set on a brand new Giant XtC-1. The guy trying to sell me the Fisher for $1,400 said 29ers have "all" the advantages. Is that truly the case? Is it a no-brainer to opt for 29-inch wheels? I compete in three or four adventure races a year, and otherwise aggresively ride trails in eastern Pennsylvania. I also like the feel of the new Stumpjumper, but wonder why a bike without disc brakes costs $1,400. Please let me know what you know. Thanks.
