When people get hurt, they generally don't get hurt the first time that a problem occurs. The first couple times a certain problem occurs, they get away with it and ignore it thinking to themselves, "Well, that could have been bad!". Well, that could have been bad. I totally agree. It seems most everyone who has responded to this post is not seeing how dangerous this type of failure can be. If I went to Walmart and bought a cheapo MTB for $50, I'd expect this type of failure-- but not on a Downtube. Sure, things happen from time to time, but I wonder how often this type of failure has occurred and what Downtube is doing about it, if anything.
