You didn't mention it, so, I'm wondering if you use a rear view mirror. Not that you did anything wrong, but, a mirror might have allowed you to keep tabs on the lady driver to save yourself some rash.

I am glad you had a witness, and I am left scratching my head as to why the lady would ever attempt to pass over a double yellow at an intersection, no matter how fast you were going.

. . . must have been a really wide open intersection if you could contemplate navigating it from 40 mph with a feather touch of the brakes (my mind wondering of on a totally non-relevant tangent that has no bearing on the accident).

I, too, am glad to hear that you suffered no serious injuries. Get your bike checked out and get back to riding ASAP.
