My experience is limited to racing, but I would assume since I see frames and components designed for flatland or dirtjumping that the differences would be worth noting and taken into consideration when selecting a frame and parts. Obviously what I would want as a racer wouldn't suit if he wants to do flatland. Do you want front brakes if you are dirt jumping? I'm asking seriously, cause I wouldn't think so but don't know. I know I don't want them on a race bike.
