I have the brown Brooks tape but it looked more like a Cardovan color when new. When new, I put a light coat of a saddle treatment I use (similar to proofide but with more beeswax, less tallow). It has faded a bit but still looks good to me. I always wear gloves and if mine fades enough to need help, I may try some shoe dye before I put more leather preservative on.
