My first brand new bike was a Diamond Back Viper back in 7th grade. My little brother got an identical bike as well. We had just moved to an apartment in Berkeley and my Mom insisted we lock them up outside with our "inpenetrable" Kryptonite locks while we visited my Dad for the weekend in Sacramento. she woiuldn't let you keep your bikes inside? i rarely lock outside for a matter of hours, let alone days. you just don't do that if you care about your bikes, and anyone who pretends to care about you should let you do what you need to do to take care of the things you care about.
